I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
